Beter Benutten ('Optimising Use')

2012 - 2017

From 2012 to 2017, the Maastricht Bereikbaar Programme Office participated in the national Beter Benutten ('Optimising Use') programme. From 2012 until 2014, this programme focused on the city of Maastricht and was subsequently scaled up to cover South Limburg through the 'employer approach' from 2015 until 2017. Employers can join Maastricht Bereikbaar and offer smart travel solutions to their employees.

The Beter Benutten ('Optimising Use') programme consisted of a combination of measures to make it easier for commuters, tourists, and lorry drivers to get to where they need to be quickly and efficiently. In the busy regions, the national and regional governments have joined forces with the business community to implement measures that all available infrastructure is used efficiently and as effectively as possible, in order to improve accessibility.
