On energy saving and eco-friendly measures

With concrete activities for energy conservation and sustainability for your company

The municipality of Maastricht aims to be climate-neutral by 2030, a commitment outlined under the banner of 'Mission Zero Maastricht.' One aspect of this effort involves forging Energy Agreements with industrial companies, healthcare institutions, and large businesses with buildings in Maastricht. These Maastricht Energy Agreements (MEA) center around concrete sustainable activities and commitments aimed at reducing energy consumption, rapidly decreasing CO2 emissions, and generating more sustainable energy.

The first MEA was signed in 2016 and it comprises the following five principles: Regional development, E-mobility, Built environment, Industry, and the municipal organization. Zuid-Limburg Bereikbaar is responsible for the execution of the MEA Industry principle. This programme office started collaborating with a large number of companies and organizations in Maastricht on the themes of Mobility and Logistics in 2010. The MEA Industry principle is now expanding thanks to the addition of the ‘Care’ and ‘Large Buildings’ clusters. Together, they make up MEA-Grootzakelijk (MEA Wholesale).

The MEA team works with companies and partners to identify market opportunities and organize knowledge sessions. By sharing knowledge and experiences, we ensure that your company can reduce its energy consumption (and therefore costs) as well as use sustainable solutions more often. This will then contribute to your company's sustainable image. Will your organization join us on the road to a climate-neutral society?
